The Macarena How To

The Macarena is one classic dance that people never seem to get tired of.  The song appeared on the 1994 album A mí me gusta, it was a worldwide hit between 1995 and 1996, and continues to enjoy a global cult following. The “Bayside Boys Mix” is perhaps the most recognizable version of the song, with its English lyrics sung by an uncredited artist. It was ranked the “#1 Greatest One-Hit Wonder of all Time” by VH1 in 2002 and is the version we normally hear in the US whenever the Macarena is played as a backdrop for dancing.

Take a Look: En Pointe

One of my favorite styles of dance to watch happens to be classical ballet or pointe.  To be en pointe is to be on one’s toes.  You will notice that I said watch, and that is for good reason, while I grew up taking this style of dance regularly I’m afraid that with my age I can no longer perform classical ballet routines that would be worth even considering classical ballet.  Still I love to watch it.  The skill and the athleticism it requires will always and forever be mind boggling to me.  Amazing dancers take strength and grace and combined those to create one ultimate form of art that I simply love.

Beat Stage Fright

The thing about stage fright is that it can affect any type of dancer, it does not matter the level.  It is a nervousness that can sometimes become extreme and leave you unwilling to even step on to the stage.  Some of the symptoms include shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, dizziness, tremors, nausea, and forgetfulness.  If you tend to get stage fright, then you are likely very frustrated by it, and if you have a performance coming up, you definitely want to avoid stage fright.  Follow some of these tips and hopefully your stage fright will go out the door.
